In a news release Thursday, Stitt said Moore was selected based on his expertise in the design and management of high-performance, low-cost technology initiatives. Stitt said he believes Moore’s experience will help modernize services across Oklahoma’s government.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Moore is also a partner at cloud software and hardware vendor SiteTraxx LLC. He served as CIO of the city of Tulsa for a decade, ending in 2009.
Moore will replace longtime CIO Bo Reese, who has served in the position since November 2014. Moore has been director of IT applications since 2017.
Moore is the newest addition in a shakeup of the state’s Office of Management and Enterprise Services. Recently, Stitt brought Steven Harpe on board to oversee the department last month and mentioned at that time that the agency was undergoing several changes.
“Jerry [Moore’s] more than 20 years of experience in technology leadership in the public and private sectors will serve Oklahomans well as we continue our efforts in becoming a Top Ten state,” Harpe said in a prepared statement.
Moore will report directly to Harpe in his new role.
