Luke notes that, along with a lot of M&A activity in the gov tech market, another current trend is the increasing sophistication of government — becoming more aware of the proper questions to ask, doing more in-house and spending IT budgets more responsibly. He expects this post-pandemic focus on better understanding the business of gov tech to continue.
In this episode of “In Case You Missed It,” Luke joins Dustin and Joe to discuss open source (“should be the No. 1 procurement check box”), the need to create a sense of community, the negative results of too much emphasis on sales (“product development and customer service fall by the wayside”) and how a loss of joy in today’s culture also results in a lost sense of purpose and civic perspective.
